Abortion Politics and the Democratic National Convention
The DNC kicked off last night for a week of celebrity appearances, press excitement for the Kamala Harris campaign, and a lot of pro-Palestinian protests. But something else is becoming very clear about this election season: The Harris campaign is elevating abortion to the top of its platform.
Just look at the presence of Planned Parenthood outside the convention. According to wide reports, abortion is not just coming to the DNC in speeches or policy proposals, but abortion—the procedure—is literally coming to the DNC.
People will be able to get abortions a few blocks away from the United Center: Planned Parenthood’s mobile abortion provider is offering medication abortions and emergency contraception—along with free vasectomies—via a mobile health clinic just blocks from the DNC, according to Fox News.
