America and the Wrath of God
America is weakening as a global superpower. Is this God's judgment?
No one wants to talk about God’s wrath. It’s not a very popular topic, especially in our permissive culture. But it’s definitely a biblical topic. The Bible talks about four different manifestations of God’s wrath.
Cataclysmic wrath is God’s direct wrath. We see it in Noah’s Flood, in the plagues of Egypt, and in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Eschatological wrath is the wrath of the end times. We see it in Revelation 6–18, which describes the Tribulation and the events of the last days.
Eternal wrath is the wrath of God poured out for eternity on those who don’t accept Jesus. This is the wrath that Jesus bore on the cross.
Abandonment wrath is a final type of wrath. Paul writes about this in Romans 1, and this is how nations end.
I believe America is facing this final type of wrath—the abandonment of God. What we’re seeing today isn’t evidence that God will soon judge America, but that God is judging America already. As Billy Graham’s wife, Ruth, once said, “If God doesn't soon bring judgment upon America, He’ll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!”
In this short video, I discuss these types of wrath and why America may already be experiencing the judgment of God.
