Last Friday, U.S. banking regulators shut down Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) after its sudden collapse. It was the second-largest bank failure in American history. SVB was a very successful regional bank known for servicing the tech industry. Unless you work in that world, however, you probably hadn’t heard of it. It only had a couple dozen branches but had billions of dollars in deposits.
