Does the Bible Predict Nuclear War?

Russia's nukes are on high alert: What role could this play in the end times?

When I was a child, growing up during the Cold War, I remember the fear we had of the Soviet Union and its nuclear weapons. I remember doing drills at school where we took shelter in case of a nuclear blast. It seems like we feared a nuclear war all the time back then.

Right now, those fears are coming back. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has raised the specter of nuclear war across the world. You may even have read news articles about how Russia has put its nuclear forces on high alert.

Meanwhile, we also know that nations like China, India, Pakistan and North Korea also have nuclear weapons. Iran is either at or about to cross the threshold for developing weapons of its own.

With all that nuclear proliferation, it’s worth turning to the Bible. Does Scripture predict a nuclear exchange related to the end times? Based on how you interpret them, several passages may point in that direction.
