Musk and Allies are Grabbing Power in Government

A few weeks ago in a Quick Hits, I questioned Elon Musk’s agenda given the hundreds of millions of dollars he spent on behalf of the Trump campaign, which gained him a position of power within the administration. I haven’t been shy in the past about my distrust of his views about digital payments, brain-computer interfaces, artificial intelligence and other concerning issues including his deep ties to China.

Now, the Wall Street Journal—typically, a conservative-leaning newspaper—is also asking questions about Musk’s agenda now that he has unprecedented access to power.

An article from Sunday examined how, in the newspaper’s words, “Elon Musk’s allies are moving swiftly to exert control over vast swaths of the U.S. government.”
