At least one prominent economist is now saying the future of currency is more likely to be digital than physical—something I warned about more than a month ago.

Economist Eswar Prasad is a Cornell University professor of trade policy and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. He’s also the former head of the International Monetary Fund’s China division and the author of the book The Future of Money.
