Israel to Expand Military Offensive in Gaza
Yesterday, Israel’s security cabinet approved a plan to “capture” Gaza by expanding its military offensive against Hamas. According to news reports, this would mean gaining full control over the disputed territory, moving the 2.1 million Palestinians living in Gaza toward the south part of the territory, and defeating Hamas forever.
The plan also address the humanitarian crisis, as the cabinet approved a process of distributing humanitarian aid through private companies, ending the ongoing food shortages.
The United Nations responded by calling the plan “dangerous” and a breach of humanitarian principles and said it would not cooperate.
