The Wider War is Here: The Latest in Israel

The situation in Israel between Israel and Hamas, Israel and Hezbollah, and Israel’s response to Iran’s attacks continues to change moment by moment. Here’s the latest:

• Around 10 million people in Israel hid in bomb shelters as the projectiles flew toward their cities in what is being called the largest single barrage of ballistic missiles in history.

• Despite this, Iran’s attack was largely ineffective. The 180 missiles it launched against Israel were mostly intercepted, and Israel was still able to convene major strikes against Hezbollah while supporting ground forces in Lebanon. God’s protection over Israel continues.

• The United States participated in Israel’s defense, including helping intercept some missiles with warships. These include aircraft carriers in the Gulf of Oman, guided-missile destroyers in the Red Sea, and others in the eastern Mediterranean.
