Spiritual Awakening? California Just Experienced the Largest Mass Baptism in U.S. History
You may have missed this a couple of weeks ago. But on May 8, in Huntington Beach, California, more than 7,750 people were baptized in the Pacific Ocean in an event that claims to have been the largest single-day baptism in the history of the United States.
It was hosted by Oceans Church and called “Baptize California,” attracting 30,000 participants from more than 300 churches on the West Coast. This was the second year of the event, which only attracted 6,000 people in 2024.
Is this the start of a nationwide spiritual awakening?
