This is Jesus’ magnificent sermon given on the Mount of Olives, so it is also often called “The Olivet Discourse.” Jesus delivers these words just two days before His crucifixion and answers His disciples’ crucial question about the signs of His coming and the end of the age.
I’ll walk you through the chronological structure of this passage, showing how verses 4–14 describe the first half of the Tribulation, verse 15 marks the critical midpoint with the Abomination of Desolation, and verses 21–31 detail the Great Tribulation leading to Christ’s Glorious Return. You’ll discover why these signs parallel exactly with Revelation chapter 6’s Seal Judgments, and why what we see today are merely “Braxton Hicks contractions” compared to the true birth pangs coming during the Tribulation.
