Rabbi Jason Sobel is the first spiritual advisor to the television series The Chosen, working with Dallas Jenkins from before the show even had a name.
Operation Roaring Lion, the strike on the Ayatollah, happened on the Saturday before Purim when synagogues were reading the scripture “Blot out the name of Amalek.”
The heroes of the book of Esther, Mordecai and Esther, were from the tribe of Benjamin, and today Benjamin Netanyahu is leading Israel against the modern-day spirit of Haman in Persia (Iran).
Isaiah 11 says “The lion will roar and my children will come trembling from the west,” which Rabbi Jason believes connects Operation Roaring Lion to Jewish people returning to Israel due to rising antisemitism in the West.
According to first-century Passover law, the person who offered the lamb had to have every person eating the meal in mind, meaning Jesus had to be thinking of each of us when He died as our Passover Lamb.
Jesus was not a carpenter but very likely a stonemason or craftsman because there was no workable wood in Israel; this connects to all His teachings about rocks and stones.
The Hebrew word for donkey (chamor) comes from the root meaning physical or material reality; Jesus riding the donkey represents heaven harnessing earth for God’s purposes.
The streets of Heaven are paved with gold because what people sell their souls for on earth is mere pavement in eternity, demonstrating the Kingdom’s reversal of worldly values.
The numerical value of love in Hebrew is 13, which is why 1 Corinthians 13 is the love chapter with 13 verses; 13 times 2 equals 26, the numerical value of God’s name, because God is most glorified through the two great loves.
