My Love for Bible Prophecy

My forty-five year journey of studying and teaching about end-times prophecy

I had only been saved for about one year in 1974 when I read my first book on the end-times. The book was The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey. I was absolutely fascinated by the concept that the Bible actually prophesied thousands of years earlier what was currently happening and was going to happen in the future.

Since then I have read hundreds of books about the end-times as well as having spent countless hours studying every prophetic scripture in the Bible. Now, forty-five years later I am more excited about end-times than ever before. And much of the reason for that is the explosion of prophetic fulfillment that has happened and keeps happening.

I first started preaching on the end-times in 1983. When I preached on some of what the Bible said would happen at the end, I have to admit it was hard to believe. For example, 2 Thessalonians chapter two is where the Apostle Paul prophesied that in the end there would be a worldwide apostasy (falling away from biblical truth) that would precede the rise of the anti-Christ and the return of Jesus. Back in 1983 I just couldn’t imagine things getting any worse than they were at that time.

But in looking back now, those were times of innocence. I truly never thought I would see the day when we couldn’t distinguish between a boy or a girl. I never dreamed that people would be fired or even arrested for failing to use the proper pronoun when addressing someone. I wouldn’t have believed you if you told me that gays could marry or a person could use the restroom or locker room of his or her choice. It would have boggled my mind to think of the worldwide flood of pornography that has been made available through the internet to computers and smart phones.

Yes, there is a worldwide apostasy occurring all around us right now and it will only get worse. But that is what prophecy said would happen. And it also said as these things unfold we are to look for the return of Jesus. Jesus told us when we see the end-times events beginning to happen we should look up and lift up our heads because our redemption is drawing near. Since end-times events have been occurring since 1948, I believe we are living in the days just prior to the return of Christ. I am a 100% believer in the accuracy and authority of the Bible and Bible prophecy.

In The Tipping Point I will be sharing my insights on Bible prophecy as well as commenting on current events and how they relate to prophetic predictions in the Bible. I will also be posting podcasts on a regular basis that will encourage and enlighten you. One of the things I believe I bring to the discussion of end-times teaching is balance. I stay away from date-setting and extreme positions. The other thing I offer is encouragement. I believe these are the most exciting times in human history and everything happening around us is announcing the soon return of Christ!
