Direct strikes on Iranian targets are a response to Iran's ballistic missile attack last month
Right now, it’s Friday night in Texas. Early Saturday morning in the Middle East, around 2 a.m., Israel unleashed a barrage of strikes at Iranian military targets, a response to the barrage of ballistic missiles Iran fired at Israel last month.
Explosions have been reported in Tehran, Iran’s capital, and air defenses were deployed. Targets may have included the headquarters of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps in the capital city and other military bases.
The attack has been expected for weeks, but raises fears that both militaries could escalate into a much larger, regional war.
