News Alert: Israel Preemptively Attacks Hezbollah in Lebanon
Israel and Iran-backed Islamist group Hezbollah trade fire this morning as tensions flare up once again in the Middle East
Many experts expected Israel to preemptively strike Iran and its rapidly expanding nuclear program. But Israel surprised the Middle East this morning with a preemptive strike against Hezbollah across Israel’s northern border with Lebanon.
A massive exchange of fire early Sunday morning between Israel and the militant Hezbollah has once again escalated tensions in the Middle East. Israel said it gained intelligence that the Iran-backed group was “prepared to fire missiles and rockets toward Israeli territory,” according to this report.
In response, more than 100 Israeli fighter jets attacked Hezbollah rocket-launching stations early this morning. Then Hezbollah hit back.
