Saturday shooting at a Trump rally injures the former president and is being investigated as an assassination attempt

I know you’ve heard about today’s attack on former President Trump at a campaign rally. It’s being investigated as an attempted assassination. I’m writing this on Saturday night, a few hours after the shooting and as information is still being made clear. We don’t know all the details yet and I suspect we’ll learn more over the next few days.

Right now, what’s clear is that Trump seems to be okay, despite being grazed in the ear and bloodied by an apparent bullet. The shooter is dead. Someone who attended his rally was killed, tragically, and two others were critically injured. Law enforcement recovered an AR-style rifle at the scene, according to the Associated Press.
