Antisemitic Terror Attack in Washington, D.C.

Just hours after news broke that Israel may be preparing for a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities—which I spoke about yesterday—a shocking act of antisemitism has shaken America’s capitol. A man shot two Israeli Embassy staff members last night on a street outside the Capital Jewish Museum. At that venue, the American Jewish Committee was hosting a reception for young diplomats in the heart of Washington, D.C.

Two people were killed: A German citizen named Yaron Lischinsky, 30, who had been raised in Israel, and an American named Sarah Milgrim, 26. The two were a couple. They were shot at close range by a Chicago man who apparently yelled, “Free, free Palestine” after captured by police.

The F.B.I. has already said it was “an act of targeted violence.”
