The Rapture Question I'm Asked Most
What happens to babies and young children who have not believed?
When I preach on prophecy, especially the Rapture, there’s one question I’m regularly asked. And as the coming of Christ seems to be drawing very near, I’ve been asked this question with more frequency:
At the Rapture, what will happen to babies and young children who have not believed in Jesus?
As you can imagine, this question is frequently asked by parents with small children, especially mothers. Believing parents want to know if their young children who have not yet trusted Christ will be left behind at the Rapture. That’s such a scary thought for them, and often gets in the way of their yearning for Christ’s coming. Not long ago, my precious daughter-in-law heard me preach about the Rapture. The next day she asked me this very question about her four young children.
In answering this question, it’s important at the outset to note that there is no specific Scripture that addresses this subject. Instead, we have to piece together a response based on the totality of Scripture. There are three main views on this issue.
