An AI Bible, the Abraham Accords, and China's Palestinian Support
Will AI Write a “New Bible”?
Last month, in Portugal, an advisor to the World Economic Forum made an astonishing claim. Israeli author and professor Yuval Noah Harari said he believes artificial intelligence could help mankind create a new religious text.
It would finally be a Bible, he said, but one that would actually be true.
The Christian Post describes his statements this way:
Harari made the stunning claim during a conversation on AI and “the future of humanity” with journalist Pedro Pinto last month in Lisbon, Portugal, in which he compared the rise of AI computer power with other history-altering inventions like the printing press.
But unlike the printing press or its Gutenberg Bible, Harari explained, AI has the potential to come up with entirely new ideas distinct from prior human development.
He pointed to Gutenberg’s printing press in the 15th century, which was used to reproduce the Bible in mass quantities for the first time. “The printing press printed as many copies of the Bible as Gutenberg instructed it, but it did not create a single new page,” Harari said. “It had no ideas of its own about the Bible. Is it good, is it bad, how to interpret this, how to interpret that. AI can create new ideas. [It] can even write a new Bible.”
