Largest Israeli Military Operation in West Bank Concludes

Earlier this week, the Israeli Defense Forces wrapped up a complex counter-terrorism operation called Operation Home and Garden, which was designed to prevent terror attacks that originated in a Jenin refugee camp—home of a substantial terrorism network that had been connected to at least 50 shooting attacks toward Israelis.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the IDF actions eliminated “many terrorist infrastructures” and would not be the end of IDF operations against Jenin:

“In these moments we are completing the mission, and I can say that our broad action in Jenin is not a one-time thing,” the premier said. “We will continue as much as necessary to cut off terrorism. We will not allow Jenin to become a haven for terrorism,” Netanyahu added.

The operation involved more than a thousand Israeli soldiers and was said to have been the largest West Bank operation by Israel’s military in two decades.
