Elon Musk Unveils “Optimus” AI Robot

Last week, at Tesla’s “AI Day” event, founder Elon Musk showed a prototype of a robot he is calling Optimus. He described it as a “general purpose” robot that could work in factories, do chores at home, and which will eventually retail for cheaper than a car.

Musk showed two different robot prototypes. One was a “rough development” robot that could be seen walking across the stage, picking up watering cans and moving boxes.
