Thousands Killed in Catastrophic Earthquake
On Monday, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake in southern Turkey caused untold damage to the cities of Gaziantep and Hatay in Turkey, as well as Aleppo, Syria, right across the southern border. As of yesterday, the confirmed death toll had approached 12,000 and hope of finding survivors had begun to fade. Tens of thousands more are injured.
