A "terrible" Iran deal, critical mass for CBDCs, and new space weapons
Netanyahu: Emerging Iran Deal “Terrible”
Last week, Israel’s former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that the looming nuclear deal between global powers and Iran was worse than the original agreement from 2015. He said the proposed new version only enables Iran to “get everything and give nothing.”
Netanyahu, who leads the Israeli Likud opposition party, described the deal this way in the Times of Israel:
“The terrible deal with Iran…casts a heavy shadow on our security and our future. Deals don’t stop the nuclear plan. The combination of grinding sanctions and a rich, realistic, credible military threat are the only things that stop [a nuclear weapons program].”
Recent reports indicate the United States and Iran are close to reviving the negotiations. After the first accord was finalized in 2015, President Trump bowed out of it in 2018, largely because of the complaints of leaders like Netanyahu. The Trump administration was unable to negotiate a better deal in its place, however. Personnel in the Biden administration have unsuccessfully been pursuing their own deal for nearly two years.
