Free speech attacked in Mexico, a stalemate with Iran, and lockdowns in China
Student Under Fire After Graduation Speech
As I mentioned in yesterday’s Tipping Point Show, a recent psychology graduate at the Autonomous University of Baja California, located in Mexico, may lose his career before it even begins.
Why? Because he gave a graduation speech defending the sanctity of life.
The university has begun formal proceedings to ban Christian Cortez Pérez from practicing psychology. The Christian Post reports the story:
As the top of his class at the university’s School of Medicine and Psychology, Pérez earned the right to deliver the commencement address at his graduation ceremony on June 27 where he voiced his deeply held moral convictions regarding the state of the world today, and the importance of the family and the sanctity of life among other issues.
Some students and faculty protested vocally and walked out, but he continued and delivered his graduation address in full.
Those professors who walked out called his address “hate speech” and are demanding that he not receive his academic degree or his professional license. They want to alert psychology associations across Mexico about his beliefs.
