Russia Threatens Nuclear Strike on U.S.
As I mentioned in yesterday’s Tipping Point Show, a Russian journalist named Igor Korotchenko—a Kremlin propagandist and editor of the newspaper National Defense—issued a nuclear threat against western nations. He specifically warned that the United States could be in danger of a missile attack because of its financial support of Ukraine:
Korotchenko said there should be a discussion about what will determine “the use and permissibility of tactical nuclear weapons what goals and what tactics we will use.”
“In response to your attacks on Russian military or civilian facilities, the first strike will be a preventative limited strike against targets on the territory of the United States of America,” he told the anchor of 60 Minutes, Yevgeny Popov. Last week, Russia announced that its Sarmat strategic missile system, which can reach the U.S., had been put on combat duty.
The Sarmat system includes the thermonuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missile known as the RS-28 Sarmat, which has been nicknamed Satan II. It made its first test flight in 2022 and entered combat service this month as the longest-range ICBM in the world.
It’s designed to fly a trajectory over the South Pole, with claims that it is immune to any current missile defense systems. This claim is disputed, but no one doubts that Satan II has a range long enough that it could launch from Russia and reach targets in the United States.
In other words, as the Kremlin commentator said, the United States could be in a greater danger of a Russian nuclear missile attack right now than we have been in years. As I mentioned yesterday, the Russian economy is smaller than economy of state of Texas. They are little more than a regional power except for their nuclear arsenal. That’s why the United States has tried to handle the Ukraine conflict very carefully. As a world power, we need to stand behind nations that are being threatened by bullies—and Russia is a bully. So is China.
China is watching the response of the west in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Because if Russia is successful, China will know that it can invade Taiwan. We understand this, which is why the U.S. and other NATO nations have stood with Ukraine, supplying them with resources and weapons but not officially getting involved ourselves.
Russia isn’t getting away with it, which is why they are making threats. Putin has been shown to be weak. He’s gotten himself backed into a corner.
But cornered animals are the most dangerous kinds of animals because they are unpredictable. Is he really prepared to launch the Satan II missile or use tactical nuclear weapons?
I mentioned in yesterday’s show that, when Ezekiel 38 talks about Gog-Magog, it mentions “Gog” as a maniacal ruler of the land Magog. He leads end-times nations in a battle against Israel, which God wins. So is it possible that Vladimir Putin could be Gog? If so, do not discount this threat.
America is hard to find in Bible prophecy, which we have discussed before here at Tipping Point. It’s possible that one of the reasons we don’t have a presence in these Scriptures is that we do not exist in the Last Days—potentially because of a successful nuclear strike?
I don’t say that to scare members of this community, but to show you that what is happening around the world—in places like Russia and Ukraine—could have a very real impact on our lives. I am praying for our protection. I am praying for the conflict in Ukraine to end soon. I believe Russia should be stopped.
I am praying, but I am doing so with my eyes open to the implications of Bible prophecy.
