“Why do you talk so much about the Rapture?” Actually, there’s a much better question: Why wouldn’t you talk about the Rapture?
The ultimate purpose of the Rapture is not just to escape Earth or to enjoy a momentary meeting with Jesus in the air but, as Paul writes, for us to be with Jesus forever: “And so we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17, NKJV).
From the time we rise to meet Him, we will never again be separated from His presence. Upon the instant of the Rapture, through the Tribulation period, the Millennial Kingdom, and on into the eternal state, we will be with Christ, enjoying unbroken fellowship with Him and reigning by His side. This has been the deepest longing of our hearts, and it will finally be fully realized.
Can you imagine what that first face-to-face encounter with Jesus will be like? To see your Savior, your Redeemer, your Bridegroom in all His glory and majesty? To feel His nail-pierced hands embrace you, to hear His voice welcome you, to gaze into His eyes of infinite love? What unspeakable joy, what holy awe, what heavenly bliss will flood our souls!
That’s why I talk so much about the Rapture, and that’s why Tipping Point exists as a resource. I want you to understand how what’s happening in our world relates to Bible prophecy, but I also want to keep sharing with you the hope of Bible prophecy. I’d love for you to upgrade to a paid subscription if you’re a free subscriber. And I’d love for you to share that hope with others.
Here are seven things to be thinking about this weekend.
1. Wisdom from Scripture
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done with love.”—1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NKJV)
2. Quote to Consider
“Just as the spectacular signs in the heavens stir our hearts, our imagination is invited to picture the next great event on God’s prophetic calendar—that glorious moment when the Church is caught up to meet the Lord in the air! At the Rapture, a stunning heavenly reunion awaits every blood-bought child of God. At last, the bride will see her Bridegroom face to face!

3. Pay Attention to This News
A mystery disease linked to bats has killed dozens of people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the World Health Organization, the disease has infected more than 1,000 people and killed 60 as of early this week. It causes “uncontrolled bleeding, vomiting, diarrhea and other symptoms of hemorrhagic fever” and nearly half of the victims have died within 48 hours of showing symptoms. Authorities don’t yet know how the disease is transmitted. “This could be a new virus that has never been discovered,” an Italian professor of infectious diseases told the Wall Street Journal. Test samples have ruled out previously identified viruses like Ebola and Marburg. From 2018 to 2020, Congo saw an outbreak of Ebola that killed 2,280 people.
4. Comment of the Week
“Thanks for this overview of God’s time clock. I have struggled to understand the purpose of the millennial reign of Christ. Your explanation today has finally cleared that up for me.”

5. Prayer of the Week
“But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.”—Malachi 4:2 (ESV)
Sun of Righteousness, arise with healing in Your wings for those who revere Your name! Protect us from proud evildoers. Shine brightly on the upright at Your return when night flees away forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
6. Link of the Week
It’s not exactly good news, but it’s not bad news either: The proportion of Americans identifying as Christian has stopped declining. As of 2024, the percentage held steady at 62 percent after having declined since 2007—when the Christian share of Americans was at 78 percent. “It’s very striking to us to have observed this recent trend in stability over a long period of decline,” said Greg Smith, senior associate director of research at Pew Research Center, who conducted the study. At the same time, the so-called “secular surge” also seems to have leveled off around 29 percent, though that percentage is higher than it’s ever been. Still, researchers expect a continued decline of Christians unless today’s young adults “become more religious as they get older.”
