If you knew for sure—beyond all doubt—that this year would be your last year on planet Earth, would you live it any differently than last year? This is something we have to come to grips with, because we need to face the fact of the brevity of life on Earth. 

These are uncertain days. Life itself is uncertain. Scripture tells us that again and again. None of us—young, old, or in-between—have any guarantees that we will live beyond the next heartbeat, the next breath, the next quick trip to the supermarket.

And for those of us who believe in the imminent, any-moment return of Jesus for His Church, there is a whole new dimension to these brevity-of-life thoughts. He is coming. Maybe before the next text pops up on your smart phone. Maybe before you finish reading this post.
