Women Go on Strike in Poland

Protests against abortion laws spills into streets, workplaces and the home

Typically the articles on this site are about events in the United States or Israel, but today I want to call attention to Poland. For many days in a row, women have been protesting in the streets of major cities and have now gone “on strike.”

Why? Because this conservative, largely Catholic nation introduced a near-total ban on abortion.
