Worship and Fear

Good Word (07.19.26)

This week I want to discuss the relationship between worship and fear. I use examples throughout the Bible to explain this relationship and the importance of recognizing it.

Look What God Has Done

Inspired by real praise reports from the Tipping Point community, these testimonies celebrate God’s faithfulness, answered prayers, and the miracles He is still doing today. We pray they encourage your faith and remind you that God is still at work.

What Is a Faith Jump?

By Kari Smalley Gibson, TP Community Storyteller

She didn’t hold back.

In the comments of a recent message from Pastor Jimmy Evans, a woman asked a vulnerable and honest question:

“How can I find faith like this?”

She shared that she loves the Lord and seeks Him daily, but past trauma has made it difficult to fully trust Him. She believes—but longs to go deeper. And honestly, I think many of us can relate to that feeling more than we admit.

One of the beautiful things about the Tipping Point community is how quickly people surround one another with encouragement, Scripture, and truth. So many of you responded with compassion and wisdom, reminding her that she wasn’t alone in her struggle.

But her question stayed with me.

How do we grow deeper in faith?

What does it really mean to take a Faith Jump—especially when we’re afraid?

When I picture a Faith Jump, I imagine myself standing on the edge of a cliff. The wind is strong. The drop feels steep. Everything inside me wants to turn back toward what feels safe and familiar.

But still… I jump.

Not because I’m fearless, but because I trust the One who will catch me.

A Faith Jump is choosing to trust God even when you can’t see where He’s leading. That’s what it means to walk by faith.

And even when I stumble, God is faithful to lift me up, steady my heart, and gently lead me forward, one step at a time.

Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT) reminds us:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Friend, faith isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about surrendering your fears to the One who already knows the way forward.

Even mustard-seed faith is powerful in His hands.

So if you’re wondering how to find faith like this, maybe it begins with one simple step of obedience.

If you’re standing at the edge today—wondering whether you can trust God with your future, your healing, your family, or your heart—take the next step anyway.

Take that Faith Jump today… and see what God will do.

He’s already holding out His hand.

If there’s something on your heart today, we’d be honored to pray with you. Please share your prayer request with our Tipping Point Prayer Team at Prayer@tippingpointnow.com. And if God has done something wonderful in your life, we’d love to celebrate with you! Your testimony may be the encouragement someone else needs today. Send your story to Testimonies@tippingpointnow.com.

We still have things that we serve and focus our attention on rather than God. Doesn't mean we don't believe in God, but it means we have anxieties and fears, and so we worship the thing that we fear the most. —Jimmy Evans
