Zechariah 14:1–9 —The King's Return

I want to share with you today one of the most remarkable truths in all of Scripture—the absolute certainty of Jesus Christ's return to this earth. There's nothing more clearly stated in the Bible than this fact. I give you ten biblical statistics that prove this: 1,845 references to Christ's return, mentioned in 23 of 27 New Testament books, eight times more references than His first coming. But today we're focusing on Zechariah chapter 14, one of the clearest Old Testament passages about the Second Coming.

Picture this: while the campaign of Armageddon rages and Jerusalem is under siege, Jesus will return and make what my friend Harold Wilmington called "a perfect two-point landing" on the Mount of Olives. The mountain will split in half, creating a great valley. Living waters will flow to both seas. And here's the culminating truth—"The Lord will be King over the whole earth." I don't know about you, but I'm tired of hearing God's name blasphemed. Someday He's coming back to rule and reign, and His name will be the only name.
