Today I feel compelled to address the devastating floods in Central Texas, particularly around Kerrville, where my family and I had just visited days before the tragedy struck. With at least 82 people dead (the number has climbed to 90 since I offered this prayer) including 28 children, and Camp Mystic losing 27 children and counselors and 11 more missing, this disaster has shaken our hearts. My wife Karen and I were at the Guadalupe River just the day before it turned deadly, and we barely made it home through the continuing storms.
Over 850 people have been rescued, but dozens remain missing, with some bodies found over 15 miles away showing the floods' devastating power. As these rains continue to pound the area, I want to lead our Tipping Point family in prayer for supernatural comfort for the grieving families, protection for the first responders still searching, and God's intervention to stop these deadly storms. We're believing for miracles and asking God to blow these rains away so Central Texas can begin healing from this unimaginable tragedy.
