Iran’s Humiliation and Drive for Revenge

I want to address Iran’s current climate following their devastating 12-day war with Israel and its profound prophetic implications. As the dust settles, one thing is abundantly clear: Iran is not backing down. In fact, they’re more defiant and determined than ever to continue their nuclear program and support their terror proxies—Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. Their ultimate goal is to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth.

What’s particularly striking is Iran’s burning obsession with revenge. According to intelligence reports, former Defense Minister Lieberman warns that “revenge is all the Iranian leadership thinks about.” Iran has been humiliated by Israel and the United States, and this desire for payback will play a key role in the Ezekiel 38 war. When that coalition gathers with Russia and Turkey backing Iran, it will give Iran the opportunity they’ve been salivating over for decades. Ezekiel 38:9 perfectly captures this: “You will go up, you will come like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you” (NASB95).

But there’s an even deeper level to Iran’s revenge obsession—their eschatology. Iran is driven by Mahdism, the belief that the 12th Imam will return in the end times during great crisis, but only after Israel has been destroyed. As one author powerfully stated: “The confrontation between Iran and Israel is not just about borders or missiles. It’s about sacred narratives colliding on the stage of history.” Iran sees itself as the vanguard of divine justice, viewing Israel as a temporal aberration whose fall will announce the divine’s reentry into the political world. Everything we see happening right now is a striking foreshadow of what Ezekiel predicted 2,500 years ago.

In the second half of today’s program, I explore Revelation 12:7–17, focusing on the future “War in Heaven” between Michael’s angels and Satan’s demonic forces. This cosmic battle occurs at the Tribulation’s midpoint, permanently expelling Satan from Heaven to Earth with “great wrath, knowing he has but a short time.” I explain how this triggers Satan’s intensified persecution of Israel (the woman), who flees to the wilderness for 1,260 days—possibly to Petra in Jordan. When Satan can’t reach the protected remnant, he redirects his fury toward other faithful Jews. Victory comes through three weapons: cleansing (blood of the Lamb), confession (word of testimony), and courage (not loving life unto death). Today’s rising antisemitism foreshadows these end-times events.
