I had a client who was a millennial. He cussed like a sailor and was one of the most jilted people I have ever met. I shared my faith him and and he responded with, “Oh I’m a christian too.” He actually believed that our beliefs and values were the same.
Hi Jason, I see this out there as well and it is very distressing. I hesitate to judge their Salvation, however, as I have come to believe that oil, in the 10 virgins passage, is literally the Holy Spirit. More about HS and less about behavior in that passage, although becoming like-Christ is obviously important, and a sign of His presence in them. God looks at us and if He sees His Holy Spirit in us, then He is seeing His Righteousness which cleanses us at Salvation and makes us His by faith. He knows us if He sees His Righteousness in us, the Holy Spirit. Our righteousness is as filthy rags.... Only God knows, and sometimes it takes awhile to clean up that soulish broken personality and bondages, that fowl behavior... and to instead walk by the Spirit. God finishes what He starts, sometimes it just takes awhile, and sometimes not till Heaven. Did they truly repent of their sins and ask Jesus to forgive them and come into their Heart by the person of the Holy Spirit? Only God knows, and He can tell by looking into their Spirit. I can see behavior, but I can’t quite look into their heart and see the HS in them, or not. I can’t see the Oil. Only God can do that. So I just pray. Just a thought.
Amen. The time is now. I'm a millennial (born in 1990) that has a Biblical worldview. When I was younger I thought there was a lot people that had the same worldview because I grew up going to church on my own, not by my parent's choosing. But as I have grown, that number is small. It saddens me how few people read and study their Bible daily as a desire to know Jesus intimately. The more we read our Bible, the more it reads you.
I have started 2021 by using a plan to read the Bible chronologically in a year. In the craziness of all that's going on, I'm trying to keep myself grounded and focused on Christ and not the world view. While praying this morning I "heard" (not with my ears but from inside of me) a voice say "Prepare. Get your lampstand, trim your wick, get plenty of oil. The bridegroom is coming." I sat stunned and said "what?". I "heard" it again. It gave me butterflies in the pit of my stomach and goosebumps everywhere else. I came across this post while searching online. I get what "prepare" and "the bridegroom is coming" mean - obviously Jesus' return, but what is the meaning of the lampstand, trimming the wick, and having plenty of oil? I'm confused.
Once saved, always saved. I want to believe this, I think it's TRUE. God will leave the flock to find the post sheep, right. I feel my daughter may have fallen away, but I believe she is saved because she was once saved.
Pastor Jimmy- Thanks for all you do to help married couples & most of all, getting people into Heaven.
At 14, my son was passionately saved in a very spiritual non-denominational youth group. At 20 he falls in love and marries a agnostic who also practices buddhism. He's 32 now and claims he wants nothing to do with God. Forget to mention they live in Seattle, have tight strongholds in the LGBTQ communities & are staunch BLM & Pro Choice supporters. I believe my son is no longer saved even though he was once saved. Can someone go "away so far" that they MUST repent & rededicate to get into Heaven? Thanks again.
Great article Pastor Jimmy. I agree with you 100% but it still breaks my heart. I have a grandson that was born in 1993 and his worldview is far from biblical. He lives with me and helps me out financially with some rent money and a little for utilities' for which I am deeply grateful. He asked Jesus into his heart as a 9yr old but I pray for him to surrender his life to the Lord. He knows what Jesus means to me and is very respectful of my faith. All I can do is live my life as a witness around him, pray for him, and know that God has a plan for him. But there is definitely something about a Millennial and their sense of entitlement that just drives me CRAZY...lol Linda
I have a question unrelated to this specific update, but important nonetheless. I’ve heard people make the argument recently that the lamb and dragon reference in Revelation 13:11 refers to the United States, but I was under the impression that we do not see anything in biblical prophecy about the US? I imagine in all your studies that you would’ve heard this as well, so I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
I love Jesus and he has gotten me through very very dark times. However, I have mental illness stemming from trauma when I was a child. I won't provide details, but it was of sexual nature. I am sad a lot of the time. I pray, but I have flashbacks. While I love the Lord, I am also frustrated. He knows my heart and what I can handle. Why can't he just come back already? I have to stay away from everything to keep my mind in a content mood or I spiral. I hardly talk to my own mother at this point. If things go south and I don't have access to my mental medication I'm afraid I won't live very many days following. What do people like me supposed to do?
Hi Edge, I’m glad you love Jesus and that he helps you through the hard times. He helps me too. I pray you will continue to reach out and that our wonderful Jesus will be there for you to meet your needs. Your pain is real. I pray Jesus comes back soon as well. He loves you, and will never stop healing your hurts. He is there. He will never leave you. He is our redeemer.
My question is, if a person accepts Jesus and is struggling with old habits for example, drugs, and in a moment of weakness does drugs and overdoses. Is that person saved? I know that salvation is a gift and the bible says the gifts of God are without repentance. Would God allow that person to go to hell?
Cheryl-Ann, If a person accepts Jesus they are saved. Once saved, their salvation is secure even if they struggle and sin - and we all struggle and sin to some degree. God's family is the most secure family in the universe!

Good for you, Alicia... God will bless your desire to know Jesus intimately. And staying in His Word is the perfect place to find that intimacy. Linda

Beautifully worded pastor Jimmy. You are such an encouragement and always pointing us to the cross.
Thanks Pastor Jimmy!
