In this episode, I examine Israel’s stunning announcement to call up thousands of reservists with plans to capture Gaza and occupy it indefinitely. As Israel’s security cabinet approves this dramatic escalation ahead of President Trump’s mid-May Middle East visit, I explore the prophetic implications through the lens of Zephaniah 2:4–7. This 2,600-year-old prophecy specifically mentions Gaza being abandoned and the coastline becoming “pastures with shepherds’ caves” for “the remnant of the house of Judah.” While I don’t believe in double fulfillment of prophecies, I see what’s happening today as a powerful foreshadow of Zephaniah’s vision—just as the Babylonian invasion in his day prefigured the ultimate Day of the Lord. With Israel planning to “flatten any buildings that remain standing” and displace Gaza’s population to a humanitarian area, we may be witnessing a modern parallel to ancient prophecy—a precursor to the final Day of the Lord and the restoration of Israel in the Millennial Kingdom.
Our Q&A segment addresses several intriguing biblical questions. One viewer wonders why both the Rapture and Christ’s return after the Tribulation are referred to as the “Second Coming,” creating potential confusion about the timeline of prophetic events. Another question explores the 200 million-strong army mentioned in Revelation 9:16 and whether they might initially come to war against the Beast rather than serving him. We also received a historical inquiry about the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh who stayed east of the Jordan River, asking if their descendants remain there today.
