US presidential contests reminds me of the transitions of the kings of ancient Judah. One monarchy would do good and then the other would do evil. We read about the temple being polished up, sacrifices to God being offered, and people in prayer. Then the next king gets in and sets up false idols and desecrates the temple. Then a good king gets in and "cuts down the Asherah poles and removes the altars from the high places" and on it goes, back and forth.

Our presidential terms seem very similar and as time goes on evil will be even more bold and draconian in nature. I struggle to see how progress can be made when each president's main goal is to undo his predecessors accomplishments; many of those have a real impact on EVERY American. I know none of this is a surprise to God just as the sins of Ancient Israel, and eventually Judah, wasn't either. There came a time when Israel (and Judah) finally used up all her favors and God turned his back and refused to help them; giving them over to Babylonians and the Assyrians.

Jesus said in Matthew 12 that, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." I believe in the sovereignty of our almighty God who brings peace to those who trust in Him, but I hate to watch flesh and blood war against one another; neighbor against neighbor, brother against brother and sister against sister. Jesus, please come soon.

Yes, I have been studying the prophets since spring, just about when COVID hit, and as our church's children's ministry coordinator, I have taken on the responsibility of teaching online all the lessons (from Answers in Genesis ABC Curriculum). We just finished talking about Jeremiah this week and have spent the last 8 months in Kings, Chronicles and other major and minor prophets. Like Jason C said below, I echo that. This world is just like the world of Israel and Judah. Why can't we learn from history? However, we are doomed to repeat it. I am so sorry Lord for not putting You first in all our ways... Forgive us and heal our land.

I was actually thinking of Psalm 2 today and talking to a friend in relation to the election in the US and world events. I am a Canadian by the way and we have a close relationship with the USA. The old hymn ‘God is still on the Throne ‘ has been such an inspiration to me the last few years. It is so good to be able to come to God’s throne of grace anytime and cast our cares upon Him knowing that He greatly cares for us and will soon take us home. Even so come Lord Jesus!!

God's kingdom is soon to be at hand. How does a believer stay with their family who doesn't believe. I don't know if they will accept Jesus and if I should go or would God want me to stay and just get stronger in my faith, giving them hope. I'm so confused.

I like this... I keep thinking and reading that something biblical will fall around us. I keep hearing that God will see Trump back to office. If not, I see the rapture coming soon. I know we can't predict it, but I have always felt that I would be here for the rapture.

The other night, I watched as the meter shower took place, then a couple nights later, Saturn and Jupiter lite up the sky. I feel this may be a sign of the rise of the antichrist or the rapture coming soon.

I also wonder about the eclipse the United States had in 2017 and the next one in 2024. I'm a little bit on the conspiracy side of things.

I know we can't predict anything, but I keep looking up. There is so much going on in the world. I know we are up against the spiritual warfare. I have had some pretty deep spiritual experiences in my life, that I'm not blind to the spiritual realm around us. I don't predict anything, but I do try to get people to really listen and be wise to know God is in charge.

My husband thinks I read to much into all of this. Maybe I do. I'm very interested in all of this. It is a little scary adventure that my human mind is scared to see play out; but knowing that God has me. I pray my faith won't falter when we go through tough times. I enjoy this sight, as you hit on the reality of what I believe we are facing... The End Times.

I find it interesting in the Scriptures that the next King of Israel, after Saul, and also anointed King by the Prophet Samuel, because the people of Israel asked for a King... was the Bethlehemite, David. Could our next “King” be King Jesus, and the 1000 year reign of Christ? We wait and watch. Come Lord Jesus....

Until then, live for God and not the world. Put Jesus first. Pray for our leaders and give witness to the Light in the middle of a time of darkness.

Minister to your family, work diligently in your job, contribute to your church and community, and prepare yourself for His coming.

I continue to believe that time will be soon.

Thank you Pastor Jimmy for this encouraging word and putting into perspective this crazy world we live in. I have to admit and repent that I am who wants everything and everyone to get along and life to be in order. This side of Glory it ain't gonna happen. Come quick Lord Jesus, Come.

Thank God! Thank you Pastor Jimmy for not restricting the capacity of God to a human political leader of either party. From Nebuchadnezzar to Pharaoh to even Antichrists' in Rev. 17:17...God has placed His thoughts, dreams and plans in horribly ungodly leaders to carry out His purpose. "God is in control!"

This is a clarion word. Thanks for bringing it. I feel chosen to understand the events from His Word that are now upon us. It makes the times that we live in so much easier to navigate. 1 Peter 4:7-8 was helpful to me this morning. “But the end of all things is at hand...and above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.”

Thank you for your response to the election. God IS in control and we must look up and focus on Him and not on the US election. If we pull ourselves up and look down from a bird's eye view we will see there is so much more to focus on than just us in the US.
