Genesis 15:18–21: God's Covenant Real Estate

Prophecy Perspectives (05.05.25)

Today, I return to the Abrahamic Covenant, focusing specifically on the land grant God promised to Abraham's descendants. This 4,000-year-old covenant remains headline news as the world debates who owns Israel's territories. I explain how God promised Abraham a specific geographic area “from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates,” encompassing not just modern Israel but also Gaza, the West Bank, and parts of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and possibly Jordan. I emphasize the critical distinction between ownership and occupation—while the Jewish people have owned this land since God's promise, they've never fully occupied it. Despite being dispersed throughout history, sometimes by God Himself due to disobedience, their divine title deed remains valid. The modern regathering of Jews to Israel (from 6% in 1948 to over 40% today) is a powerful apologetic for the truth of the Bible, foreshadowing Christ's Millennial Reign when they'll finally possess their entire promised inheritance.
