Pastor Jimmy.... I’ve never read that verse before!! It’s a perfect reminder to keep looking up. And so true He allows these things to happen with the weather to “punish people or show His unfailing love.” I pray this icy storm was the latter. As you know we live in Keller TX and experienced power & water boil issues with freezing pipes. But, how awesome it was to take containers of water to people and shovel driveways for widows... checking on our neighbors & serving one another. Friends, pray for the families that lost loved ones in the horrific crash on I35. Every single county in TX was affected and like Jimmy said... we may never see anything like this again in our lifetime. May we continue to love big & serve big & share the Good News boldly! Amen

Just when we think that the weather is out to get US with crazy blizzards or heat waves..... God tells us this...

From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind,

And cold from the scattering winds of the north.

10 By the breath of God ice is given,

And the broad waters are frozen.

11 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds;

He scatters His bright clouds.

12 And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance,

That they may do whatever He commands them

On the face of the whole earth.

13 He causes it to come,

Whether for correction,

Or for His land,

Or for mercy.—Job 37:9-13

Thank you Jimmy... I really needed to hear that God is still in control and my backed up kitchen sink or my shower that only has hot water is just an inconvenience. But my prayers to the families who have lost a loved ones and to those huddled together just to stay warm.

I am from an area of the country where we are used to some severe cold weather from time to time, but several small towns around us are running out of gas from the utility companies due to the pipeline shut down. They are are having a hard time providing for the needs of their community members. Some counties have declared a state of emergency. We have a lot of elderly and poorer families with children in these communities. Please pray for them. Pray for the Christians to seize the opportunity to help and the spiritual prompting to do so. I pray that for myself as well, to see the need and help where I can. Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Athens, including the Acropolis, is also covered in snow: https://www.livescience.com/rare-snow-covers-acropolis-athens.html . This reminds me of Paul’s addressing the Athenians: “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” - Acts 17:30-31 (NKJV)

Thanks, Jimmy! God bless your team and your family. I just had a call with A customer in Israel this morning, and there is snow in Jerusalem. That is not normal!

If anyone listens to Pastor Hank Kunneman, senior pastor at Lord of Hosts Church in Omaha, Nebraska, he prophesied about the coming snowfall on December 1, 2020 (if I'm not mistaken). Here's a 5-minute YouTube clip about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeZQiqK2E8M I think the prophecy was not only intended to be about D.C., but about a cleansing in the nation as a whole.

The news headlines are so extreme in the End Times. It is devastating to watch the news. This has to be the End Times!? My heart is breaking for Texas, my home state. Pipes are bursting, terrible power blackouts, extreme temperatures, food shortages. Praying harder than usual.

Pray for our family.... we moved last week and returned every day to our "old" house to make sure faucets were dripping and power was back on after outage for 3 days. Everything was good until 3PM today a pipe burst in the 2nd story and in a matter of an hour our kitchen & hall ceilings collapsed and flooded downstairs. It's a disaster zone.... if I could show you pics :( The devastating part.... we just got the home restored & ready to rent to a family. The TX sunset was so beautiful tonight... through my tears I thanked God and He filled my heart up with peace. This is really bad, but our God is bigger and His plans are perfect! Praying for anyone facing storms.... stay safe.

Listening to the freezing rain crash against the window outside this morning....

And Elihu continues in Job 37:19-24.

“Teach us what we should say to Him, for we can prepare nothing because of the darkness. Should He be told that I wish to speak? If a man were to speak, surely he would be swallowed up. Even now men cannot look at the light when it is bright in the skies, when the wind has passed and cleared them. He comes from the north as golden splendor; with God is awesome majesty. As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, in judgement and abundant justice; He does not oppress. Therefore men fear Him; He shows no partiality to any who are wise of heart.”

Looking to the North for His Golden Splendor.... Come Lord Jesus.

The initiative against despair.

"Rise let us be going..." Matthew 26:46.

The disciples went to sleep when they should have kept awake, and when they realized what they had done it produced despair. The sense of the irreparable is apt to make us despair, and we say—‘It is all up now, it is no use trying any more.’ If we imagine that this kind of despair is exceptional, we are mistaken, it is a very ordinary human experience. Whenever we realize that we have not done that which we had a magnificent opportunity of doing, then we are apt to sink in despair, and Jesus Christ comes and says—‘Sleep on now, that opportunity is lost for ever, you cannot alter it, but arise and go to the next thing.’ Let the past sleep, but let it sleep on the bosom of Christ, and go out into the irresistible future with Him.

There are experiences like this in each of our lives. We are in despair, the despair that comes from actualities, and we cannot lift ourselves out of it. The disciples in this instance had done a downright unforgivable thing; they had gone to sleep instead of watching with Jesus, but He came with a spiritual initiative against their despair and said—‘Arise and do the next thing.’ If we are inspired of God, what is the next thing? To trust Him absolutely and to pray on the ground of His Redemption.

Never let the sense of failure corrupt your new action.

My utmost for His Highest, Oswald Chambers.

Thank you for thinking out loud on this one. My thoughts went straight to Job as well this week, when some friends concerning Texas said that they thought the enemy was just trying to “freeze them out” in their prayers. Yes, they are Amillennial, or Postmellinnial, or some variation of. Can you hear it? I was thinking to myself, that the enemy does nothing without God’s say-so, so why are they blaming the enemy? I get it though. Easier to blame him than God, if you are Amillennial. I’m not blaming God either, but I sure don’t put it past Him to do whatever He is doing right now. He uses everything at His disposal (ask Job) to do whatever He wants to do, or say whatever He wants to say, because He is merciful (and justified) and wants us to understand that He is God. He is. And we can’t change His Character just because we don’t like it. But they do. Job found that out the hard way. Maybe we are finding that out the hard way too. This Nation may be making God fire-hot mad! Anybody ever think of that on the Postmill side? I am sure thinking it on the pretrib side! Sorry about the Tipping Point Show. It is a bit of a wheat and tares situation. The Body of Christ must suffer along until the Lord Jesus says Ok, enough, and brings The Bride home. Merciful. That is the key. That is His nature. To keep the bitterness and the anger in check by forgiving like He did, and does, those that are slow (like Job) on the uptake. I’m working on my own heart daily. I want to be light in a dark world, like He was, and is, through us, when we forgive and love the Jobs from the Heart, His Heart. Trying, to be friends with Job.... Not easy.
