Top Tipping Point Posts of 2022
A look at the articles and videos that captured your attention
It’s been a fascinating year, particularly in terms of Bible prophecy. It’s also been an interesting year here at Tipping Point. I thought one interesting way to recap the past 12 months would be by examining some of our top posts.
Here are the most-read posts at Tipping Point in 2022:
Exploring the Shemitah Cycle (July 5, 2022)
As we entered the final months of the Sabbath year of the Shemitah cycle, according to the Hebrew calendar, I explained more about what this important year meant for the ancient people of Israel. It had to do with God’s command in Leviticus 25 to let the land rest. He also intended it to be a year to forgive debts.
God counts time in sevens. Our calendar weeks are divided into seven days and the Hebrew calendar is divided into seven-year cycles:
“And you shall count seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years; and the time of the seven sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years.”—Leviticus 25:8
In late September, we reached the end of the Hebrew year 5782, which began in September of 2021 and concluded at Rosh Hashanah of 2022. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, a friend of ours and speaker at our prophecy conference, had mentioned in his book The Mystery of the Shemitah that God not only commanded the Shemitah cycle but also follows it. He and other Bible prophecy teachers mentioned that Shemitah years are important. God takes them seriously as a time to bless people and release them from burdens.
Many of us hoped the Rapture would occur during the Shemitah year. Of course, that didn’t happen (though I still trust God’s timetable and not mine). But did God give us some kind of blessing during that period last year? Could it have been something we haven’t yet discovered or which hasn’t made the news? I suspect we could find out soon.
Russia Has Invaded Ukraine (February 24, 2022)
Geopolitically, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was probably the most prophetically and economically significant event of the year. We felt its effects this year around the world, from inflated food and energy prices to supply chain difficulties. The economic impact has been huge and put a stop to our post-pandemic recovery. It also led to a humanitarian crisis as millions of Ukrainian refugees fled to neighboring countries like Poland and Germany.
The conflict has remained active, though to date Ukraine has dealt Russia a number of devastating (and perhaps surprising) counteroffensive blows. Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky has since been named the Time Magazine “Person of the Year” and recently came to the United States to deliver a historic speech to a joint meeting of Congress.
In my post in February, published just hours after the attack began, I noted that China seemed to support the invasion and hadn’t yet condemned the attack. China has since expressed its willingness to maintain its partnership with Russia but has not gone “all in” on support of the conflict. At least publicly, China seems to support mediation or a ceasefire.
I also pointed out that Russia plays a significant role in the Gog-Magog invasion of Ezekiel 38-39 and this could be a prelude to that coalition’s development:
More than anything, Putin’s attack is a challenge to global stability and democracy. Some experts see it as having little to do with Ukraine and everything to do with challenging Washington and the West. That Russia may be aligned in this challenge with another authoritarian state, China, does not bode well for future peace.
I closed that post by asking you to remember that God is in control and to pray for the people of Ukraine. I think we would all do well to keep those two things in mind still today. Trust in Jesus and pray for peace.
The Future Decline of America (April 18, 2022)
Greg Laurie wrote this extremely high-traffic post back in April, but it could have been written last month, last week, or today. It points to the nations mentioned in Bible prophecy—Israel, Iran, Libya, Russia, China and others—and asks the question: Where is the United States?
Because the cold, hard truth is this: America seems to be mostly absent from end-times events. He offers a few possibilities why that may be the case:
The U.S. could be wiped out in a nuclear attack.
The U.S. could simply decline as a world power.
Many of the U.S. could be raptured, devastating civilized society.
Pastor Laurie’s conclusion is that we should pray for our country like never before, because it is clear that the United States has been drifting away from God:
The answer for America’s problems is not a military one, but a spiritual one. We need more people hearing about who Jesus is and what He promises, not some vague, whatever-you-believe-god-to-be “spirituality.”
We need to get back to the true God of the Bible. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The God who sent His Son Jesus Christ to be born in the manger, to die on the cross, and to rise again from the dead three days later. If we turn back to God—to that God—He promises He will bless us.
Is revival in our future or are we only facing continued decline? We will see.
Nearing the End of Gabriel’s Countdown (January 9, 2022)
This post, an update of one I wrote right after launching Tipping Point in 2019—before most of you were here—proved extremely popular. It examined Daniel 9 and the three-part “seventy sevens” prophecy given to Daniel by the angel Gabriel.
The first two parts of that prophecy were fulfilled exactly.
The final third of the prophecy is still coming, and it represents the seven years of the Tribulation. Here’s how I closed that article:
When that 42-month period is complete, the current age is over. The end times are completed, God’s 490-year prophetic clock for Israel runs out, and Daniel’s prophecy is fulfilled. If the first 483 years of this prophecy have already come to pass, then you can rest assured the final seven will also be fulfilled.
I think it will start soon. The signs of the times are all around us.
Prophecies like these are among the reasons I love Scripture so much. It is measurable and easy to prove or disprove. When people try to argue that the Bible is inaccurate or uninspired, all I have to do is point them to fulfilled prophecies like these. History shows us the truth.
Friday Q&A: The Feast of Trumpets (October 7, 2022)
I’m a little surprised that this Q&A post, which was the very first one I introduced after developing the idea this fall, has ended up in our top posts of the year. But I guess it shows how much this community has really valued the question-and-answer format!
This initial question was about whether the Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashanah would be the triggering event for the seven-year Tribulation. I explain passages like Hosea 5 and 2 Thessalonians 2 and what they say about the timing of these events.
In the 2 Thessalonians passage, Paul writes about “He who now restrains.” I discuss this phrase:
“He who now restrains” is the Holy Spirit and the Church. According to that passage of Scripture, as soon as the Holy Spirit and the Church are taken away in the Rapture, “the lawless one,” aka the Antichrist, will be revealed.
So, when the Rapture occurs with the Feast of Trumpets, I believe the Tribulation will begin almost immediately.
You have submitted a lot of questions throughout the year. Did you know I keep a spreadsheet of every question asked via the comment section or direct emails? There are literally thousands of them! I try to pick the most common or most compelling ones to answer in video format or in these Q&A posts. I can’t get to all of them, of course, but I am always paying attention and working through that list.
Tipping Point Shows
I recognize that some members of this community prefer the written posts and others are here only for the videos and/or podcasts. That’s why I produce both formats every week.
Here are the five top Tipping Point Shows from 2022:
Are You Ready for the Coming Famines? (April 6, 2022)
End Times Countdown Clock (September 21, 2022)
The Season of Christ’s Return (March 10, 2022)

Happy (almost) New Year y’all!! We’re still here, so we know with confidence we still have a lot of work to do. Every year I ask the Lord to give me a “word” for the year to pray through, ponder, and focus on throughout the year. He’s always been faithful. My word for 2022 was Steady-the-Course. Then, 6 months ago He gave me another word “Delight” that really helped me thru a tough season. I can’t wait for my new word for 2023…. I’d love to hear if God gave you a word too—please share it with us.
As we gear up for a new year, my prayer for this amazing community is HOPE. Hope for our future loving & serving Him until the twinkle-of-an-eye and we’re raptured. As long as He keeps us on this earth may we continue to share the good news, and use our God gifts to make a difference loving big and serving big! Maranatha TP family!💛☁️🎺🔜
Ya, I suspect if 2022 was fast paced and a bit turbulent, 2023 will be hypersonic. So many big changes coming right around the corner, who can even begin to know what might be in store? It’s a good time to be plugged into the TP community, (Jimmy is on it!) and the prophecy community in general as we get closer to the end of the end. It is smooth sailing for us, as we keep our eyes on Jesus, and His Word, and the work that He has prepared in advance for us to do. Jesus, we pray the world will come to know You as the Christ and Savior, as this new year starts to roll. 🌺
